Hello new 6th graders and families! My name is Kirsten Gruber and I teach Social Studies, Science and Health as part of the 6th grade team here at Sauk Centre Elementary.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy gardening, just enjoying the weather, or watching my favorite volleyball team.  I also enjoy reading, playing board games, and learning new things. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a middle school endorsement in Science from St. Cloud State University. I am currently working my master's degree in Education.

I hope you are as excited to begin 6th grade, as I am to teach it. I look forward to meeting, working with, and learning from all of you this year!

Hi! I am Heidi Gustafson and I am back in 6th Grade as the English-Language Arts (ELA) teacher.  I’ve been teaching 3rd Grade the past 3 years but was in 6th Grade prior to that. I’m excited to return!

I love learning new things each year from my students!  I will have to re-acclimate myself to Chromebooks, as we used iPads in 3rd grade, but no doubt my students will have me back on track in no time!  We will be enhancing our Reading and Writing skills and learning what fun can happen when lost in a good book!

You can connect with me during the day through email. I will have Google Classroom to communicate assignments with students, and you can also connect with me through the Remind App, just text @h2e98g to the number 81010 to join.

Welcome to Sixth Grade!  I am very excited about this school year!  This year I will be teaching sixth-grade math. During this course, the sixth graders will be working on many problem-solving skills that require critical thinking and group work. At the beginning of the school year, we will be reviewing to make sure how caught up the students are with their math skills. The sixth-grade curriculum will include ratios and rates, the division of decimals and fractions, integers, algebra, geometry, and statistics. We will also be focusing on real-world scenarios so students are able to see its connection to math.

I look forward to working with you. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
