I've been teaching music at Sauk Centre since 2017.  I enjoy making music with students in choir, musicals, or in any setting really.  I grew up on a farm outside of Fairfax, MN and studied Vocal Music Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato.  My wife and I live in Long Prairie; she teaches music in Royalton.  When I'm not making music with students I enjoy gardening and automotive related activities.

I have enjoyed teaching band in Sauk Centre since 1996. I teach all of the bands in grades 6-12 and a music studies class at the senior high level.  Some of my favorite teaching moments occur while working with small groups like jazz bands, solos and ensembles.

I love to attend live performances and I share that love with my students. We travel to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater every fall and our seniors have the option to travel to New York City each spring. It doesn’t get any better than Broadway!

Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, especially my two kids who are both successful adults and living on their own. We love to camp in the summer, ski in the winter and travel whenever possible. I also love to play music with our local community band and with as many jazz bands as possible. I take good care of my teeth so I can play for as long as I live!
