Don Peschel, Superintendent
I’m honored to serve the families, students, and staff as Sauk Centre School District’s superintendent. I started my career in education in 1990 as an Elementary teacher in Browerville, Minnesota. In the fall of 1991, I returned to Sauk Centre as a 6th grade teacher and coach. In 2016 I entered into administration serving as the Dean of Students and Community Education Director. In 2018 I accepted the superintendent’s position in Brandon-Evansville School district and remained there until the spring of 2022. I returned home to Sauk Centre in 2022 as the superintendent of schools.
I look forward to continuing the tradition of providing a quality education to all of our students and families. We have an outstanding staff, school board, and leadership team that will continue to work towards challenging our students with the goal of achieving educational excellence. Building authentic relationships with our students and staff is at the cornerstone of my philosophy. Our country's future lies in the hands of our greatest resource, our students we have in our schools.
Once again, I’m honored to be in this position and so grateful to serve the district and community of Sauk Centre. I embrace the challenge to give back and lead this school which has provided so much opportunity for myself and my family through the years.

It is a blessing to serve as Elementary Principal at Sauk Centre Elementary School. At Sauk Centre Elementary we pride ourselves on being respectful, responsible, and safe. Sauk Centre is a great community to raise a family in, and I am thankful to be a part of a supportive and welcoming community. The students and staff at Sauk Centre Elementary bring energy, smiles, and joy with them each and every day. I continually feel blessed to work at a job I love…elementary principal – best gig around! Education is where my heart has always belonged and I knew from a young age I wanted to pursue a career in education. Before becoming a principal, I spent time teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade at Morris Area Elementary School. In June of 2012, I began pursing my Masters and Administrative Degree from St. Cloud State University. I completed my course work in June of 2014 and was hired at Sauk Centre Public Schools in July.

Welcome! I am proud to serve the staff, students, and families of Sauk Centre Secondary School. I began my teaching career in this district as a Social Studies teacher in 1997. I had the privilege to teach 10th -12th grade students in various courses for ten years. After that, I served as both a K-12 principal and PreK-6 principal. In 2014, I had the honor to return to the district as the Secondary Principal. I enjoy working with our staff to provide a learning environment where students can see their potential to succeed and lead.
Additionally, at Sauk Centre Secondary School we envision a school . . .
• Where all students are engaged and instilled with a passion for life-long learning.
• Where the climate is respectful and fosters a sense of responsibility in our global community.
• Where students acquire basic knowledge as well as the life skills of problem-solving, communication, and collaboration through curricular and technological opportunities.

Welcome, I am very excited to join the Sauk Centre secondary school. I am excited and look forward to working with the students, staff, and community of Sauk Centre.
I have called central Minnesota home most of my life, graduating from Wheaton High School, and attending both Moorhead State University and Saint Mary's University. I feel fortunate to find myself in another school district that values educational opportunities for their students, provides programming that prepares students for careers and life after school, and sees the school as an integral part of a growing community.
I started my teaching career in Alexandria, where I served as a special education teacher for 9 years, and coached 3 sports. After receiving my administrative degree, my family moved to New York Mills where I served as the secondary principal, grades 7-12, for five years. When an administrative position opened back in Alexandria, I returned to serve as Middle School principal, grades 6-8, for 14 years. My final year in Alexandria, I served as a principal in the area of special education, serving various levels of special education throughout the district.
I look forward to building relationships with students and families, working with staff members to grow student programming, and learning and understanding from the community how we can collaborate together to continue to build a school and community we are all proud to live in.

Welcome! I am humbled and honored to be part of the Streeter team and help serve the Sauk Centre School Community. Even though I am relatively new to the district, I am familiar with the Sauk Centre area.
I was born and raised on a family farm near Browerville. During my elementary years, I attended Christ The King Catholic School and graduated from Browerville High School in 2000. My parents are from St. Martin and Lake Henry areas. Growing up, our family made quite a few trips through the Sauk area and had family get-togethers at Fairy Lake.
I began my educational career in Royalton as a high school social studies teacher. I transitioned to becoming Activities Director in 2010 and Community Education in 2015. During my time as A.D. I had the privilege of working closely with Rick Fischer and Scott Bergman as members of MSHSL Region 5A and District 19.
The community of Sauk Centre has always caught my eye and has been an attractive place where many people in Central MN aspire to move and settle down to call home. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and learning about the rich history, culture, and Sauk Centre values. I am excited to see where we can take this school community and we want each of you to become a stakeholder in your school district. My wife, Tera, along with our children, Krew, Kroy, and Kora reside here in town and we are proud to call Sauk Centre our home.
If you have any ideas for a community ed class, access to resources, or want to become involved, please feel free to contact me at brent.lieser@isd743.org or 320-352-2258 ext. 4005. Or Angie Christians at angie.christians@isd485.org or 320-352-2258 ext. 4006.
I am excited to be part of your district and a member of your community!
