College in the Schools (CIS)

We partner with Central Lakes College(CLC) in Brainerd for all of our CIS courses.

The courses are taught at Sauk Centre through a partnership between a teacher at Sauk and a professor at CLC.

Courses currently offered include: Composition I, Composition II, Film Appreciation, Fundamentals of Public Speaking, American Lit 1861 to present, World Literature, Intro to College Algebra, College Algebra, Pre Calc, College Calc, College Biology, Human Biology, College Chemistry, College Psychology, Spanish 3, and Spanish 4.

 You will have the chance to sign up for these courses during your normal registration time.

Eligibility for CIS

11th grade: 3.0 cumulative GPA

  • Students must complete CLC registration, application for admission, data enrollment form, and authorization for the release of student information.
  • An Accuplacer score of 56 or above in reading is required for all CIS courses.
  • Students who do not meet these requirements can apply for an appeal through CLC.

12th grade: 2.5 cumulative GPA

  • Students must complete CLC registration, application for admission, data enrollment form, and authorization for the release of student information.
  • An Accuplacer score of 56 or above in reading is required for all CIS courses.
  • Students who do not meet these requirements can apply for an appeal through CLC.
