On Monday, November 18th, Stearns Country Public Health will present information on vaping at 7:00 PM in the Sauk Centre School Auditorium.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that almost 10% of 8th graders have vaped with in the last 30 days. At the 12th grade level, that rate has doubled to 16+% for boys. Students report that 66% of the vape due mostly to the flavorings. As a result, teen vapers are twice as likely as non-vapers to become cigarette smokers, too.
This will be an opportunity for parents, students, and community members to learn about the dangers of vaping and prevention strategies.
