Choir/Music Studies (full year preferred, 2 quarter minimum)

Prerequisite:  Students must have participated in choir from 7th grade through the 8^th grade level or by audition.

Credit:  1 credit per quarter

Grade:  9-12

College Credit:  No

Students must be registered quarters 3 and 4 in order to participate in MSHSL contests.  

Music Studies is a course covering a wide variety of topics including but not limited to: additional performance, music history, music genres/eras, learning a musical instrument, musical theatre, music theory, and the science of music.  Seniors may have the opportunity to perform youth service during their fourth year of music studies.

*Any senior enrolled in 12/16 quarters of music through grades 9-12 and all 4 quarters their senior year is eligible for the spring New York City trip.  Any exceptions must be approved by the instructor and administration.
